Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurses (NICU RN) takes care of at risk newborn babies until they are stable and ready to return home with their parents. Your main priorities as a NICU nurse are the baby and the baby’s mother. In addition to taking care of the preemie, the Neonatal ICU travel nurse also sees to the well-being of the family during a difficult time by explaining the care and condition of the infant. There are basically three areas of concentration for a NICU nurse: Level 1 NICU Nurse is dedicated to the care of healthy newborn babies. Level 2 NICU Nurse is solely for preemies or newborns that get sick. Level 3 NICU Nurses care for newborn babies who need critical care and attention.
