Hours: Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to work in a multidisciplinary and integrated outpatient clinic setting with children and adolescents with childhood onset of disabilities. Prefer at least three years experience in acute care pediatrics. Position is for PM&R and Pediatrics with a focus in neurotrauma, neuromuscular, pulmonology, GI and palliative care. Must be a collaborative, team-oriented person with excellent communication and customer services skills. Interest in clinical research. Hours are M - F days ( generally 8 - 5).
Job Objective/Purpose:
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) delivers comprehensive patient care which maximizes outcomes in a manner consistent with the hospital and department's mission, philosophies, and in accordance with professional practice standards. Under the supervision of the physician(s) and outpatient services manager, the NP assesses, plans, and implements the evaluation and follow up of patient care. The NP incorporates direct patient care, consultation, research, education, and leadership into an advanced practice nursing role.
Qualifications Required: Graduate of accredited Nurse Practitioner Program; licensure or eligible for licensure as an RN in Minnesota; certification and prescriptive authority, Masters level preparation desirable. Demonstrates skill in interpersonal communication, organizational and leadership skills. Demonstrates competence in working with infants, children, and adolescents with disabilities and their families. Able to function independently. Physically able to work hours required, transport/transfer patients, and drive to multiple locations daily.
