Services include, family and internal medicine, pediatrics, Osteoporosis Care, Endocrinology, Podiatry, Geriatric Care, Certified Nurse Midwifery, and Osteopathic Care. The staff comprised of board certified physicians, nurse practitioners, midwives, nurses, certified medical assistants, lab and x-ray technicians as well as other staff members are dedicated to providing the high quality compassionate care that makes the HealthEast Clinics the East Metro’s primary care network.

Department Overview:
MAPLEWOOD CLINIC The multispecialty Maplewood Clinic offers convenient care for children and adults. Our Internal Medicine physicians focus on care for adults with disorders of the glands; heart and lungs; and intestinal and urinary tracts; in addition to care for chronic diseases such as diabetes and arthritis. Our Pediatric department! combines primary care, consultation and teaching in their pra! ctice. Through a teaching affiliation with the University of Minnesota, the staff keep up to date on new developments in the field of pediatric medicine and share this knowledge with other physicians and medical residents. Each facet of the practice centers on caring for the health of children in the community with special emphasis on wellness and prevention.

Primary Function & Major Responsibilities Responsible for the accurate and timely collection and/or processing of specimens i! n the Lab.Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to patients of all age groups.Performs specimen collection to ensure the accurate and appropriate performance of patient testing while maintaining patient dignity, comfort and confidentiality.Complies with laboratory safety and infection control policies to ensure a safe work environment.Performs computer and clerical functions accurately to ensure accurate test ordering and reporting of patient results.Reviews, follows and understands established laboratory quality assurance and quality control procedures.Performs and documents maintenance and troubleshooting procedures on laboratory instrumentation to ensure proper operation.Participates in the overall operations of the section(s) and department.Maintains professional growth and developmentMaintains confidentiality in all aspects of the job.Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Educ! ation:
Successful completion of accredited Medical Assistant Pr! ogram andcurrent certification.

Experience:
Minimum one year related Lab experience preferred.Special Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities:
Comprehensive knowledge of routine laboratory procedures, techniques and instruments;Good communication skills;Ability to work independently and as a team;Good time management and organizational skills;Basic laboratory skills; Phlebotomy and Injection Administration;Extensive PC knowledge and skills;Excellent written and verbal communication skills using tact and persuasion as appropriate in the English language;Basic Life Support Certification;X-Ray Certification (if required by clinic site);Ability to stand, walk, or sit for an extended period of time. Reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction. Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hand(s) or arms(s). Communication skills using the spoken word. Ability to stoop, bend, push or lift 50 pounds.Regu! lar/Temporary
