Description

Position Summary:
The District Clinical Specialist is responsible for

  • Helping achieve strategic and revenue goals from the assigned customers
  • Improving wound care knowledge and providing clinical training and education on VAC therapy and other Negative Pressure Therapy platforms to the Customer's staff
  • Supporting 5 - 6 sales territories
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
Present KCI value proposition to achieve strategic and revenue goals

Provide clinical selling support in Hospitals and LTACs to promote appropriate use of VAC and other Negative Pressure therapy platforms

Work with Account Executive (AE) and Territory Account Manager (TAM) to identify and fulfill clinical education and training needs

Develop wound care, VAC Therapy and other Negative Therapy platform usage protocols or related protocols with AE and TAM

Prioritize account calls and activities to expand customer's wound care expertise and achieve superior clinical outcomes

Participate in conventions, showrooms, vendor fairs, in services etc.

Use business and clinical data in accordance with KCI policies

Develop and manage relationship with WOCNs, DONs and Nurse Education Directors to understand and fulfill nurse education, training and in-servicing needs

Develop and implement clinical education and training schedule for VAC Therapy and other Negative Pressure platform customers

Conduct accredited education program and other education programs like WRN and Resident Training programs in compliance with KCI policies

Use customer education programs, tools and presentations

Communicate with hospital personnel, physicians and other health care professionals

  • Capture and maintain customer profile data
  • Maintain customer interaction information by entering into designated KCI system
  • Assist in collecting necessary documents when required
  • Document corporate and region reports
Support business needs for which VAC Clinical Specialist is qualified

Successfully complete all designated training programs for this position

Qualifications

Position Qualification Requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Nursing or related field
  • At least two years of clinical wound care or related patient care experience in acute care market place
  • Experience with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, & Outlook
Other Position Qualifications

In addition to the basic qualifications listed above, the following other position qualifications are required:

  • Experience with account development
  • Experience with clinical training
  • Demonstrated ability to manage change and multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated presentation and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently and efficiently with limited supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with customers, employees and business contacts, while conveying a positive service oriented attitude
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in all business dealings
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, eliciting support and cooperation from co-workers
  • Ability to work weekends and on-call on a regularly scheduled basis
  • Ability to travel 20%-60% by commercial air service to attend scheduled business and KCI Corporate functions.
  • Ability to work to the demands of the business
Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to the basic qualifications and other required qualifications listed above, the following preferred qualifications also exist:

Advanced wound care certification

Medical Device or health care sales experience
