Position Description: Responsible to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and supervise nursing care of patients within the area of assignment pursuant to the policies and procedures of Prairie. Responsible for g! aining insurance pre-authorizations, when necessary, and conducts routine insurance reviews. Assesses and monitors patients daily functioning and assists in symptom management. Requires knowledge of nursing practices, which can be gained only through an accredited school of nursing.
Oriented and educated in gender, cultural differences and in age appropriate care for the assigned unit. Plans and facilitates daily nursing groups with patients. Responsible for nursing assessment upon admission and the necessary discharge planning required in hospital programs. Must effectively track and communicate pertinent medical information both verbally and through written documentation.
Can assist in scheduling appointments and medication refills.
