University of Minnesota Physicians seeks per diem nurse practitioner/physician assistant. Join our team and work with a talented group of health care providers, administrators and staff whose priority is developing and applying new knowledge to improve lives.

Our West Bank Intensive Care Unit provides adult critical care services to this campus. Specializing in toxicology, obstetrics and orthopedics, this small combined medical-surgical ICU is one of the 4 critical care units at the UMMC-F. Our team consists of NP/PA's and board certified critical care surgeons. Residents and medical students do not rotate through the unit. The advanced practice provider has close physician collaboration yet a very autonomous role.

  • Ongoing patient evaluation an management
  • Care plan development
  • Discharge planning in collaboration with the MD staff
  • Participation in daily interdisciplinary rounds
Job Qualifications:
  • Nurse Practitioner
  • !
o Master's degree with graduation from an accredited program

o Board certification as ACNP, ANP, or FNP with an active RN license

  • Physician's Assistant
o Bachelor's or master's degree with graduation from an accredited program

o NCCPA certification

  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a NP or PA in a hospital or clinic setting
  • Additional requirements: Technical skills, languages, software, office equipment
Preferred Qualifications

  • Inpatient and critical care experience

Patients in Critical Care at University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview, are treated by trained surgical intensivists. Those with complex conditions are cared for by a highly integrated, multidisciplinary surgical critical care team, including pharmacists, nutritionists, respiratory therapists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and social workers. !
