More complete informations about this job opportunity please read the description below. Instruction, scholarship, and service responsibilities in the graduate nursing programs in nursing. The person selected for this position w! ill serve as an assistant or associate professor of nursing in the masters, post-graduate certificate, and doctoral programs in nursing. Assignments will include teaching (traditional, online and hybrid courses) with service primarily in Rochester or Winona. The person in this position will teach within the nursing science core and direct care core courses across the graduate programs, and may teach in specific program role courses as expertise allows. Responsibilities will also include:

  • Advising students in the graduate programs in nursing
  • Maintaining an active scholarship program
  • Participating effectively in a CCNE accredited department of nursing with undergraduate and graduate programs
  • Contribution to non-teaching governance activities and to community service needs utilizing professional nursing expertise.
  • Primary responsibility in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program.
Minimum Qualif! ications:
  • Graduate degree in Nursing (i.e., M! asters, PhD, or DNP, or equivalent) from a CCNE or NLN accredited nursing program
  • National Board Certification as an Acute
Care Nurse Practitioner

  • Evidence of demonstrated scholarship
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Computer proficiency (e.g. Word, electronic mail, PowerPoint, internet, etc.)
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse with current registration or eligible for licensure in MN and WI
  • Candidate must be eligible to meet background study requirements according to Minnesota statutes
  • Work experience in advanced nursing practice [e.g. nurse practitioner, clinical nurse specialist, nurse educator, or nursing or organizational leadership (nursing administration)]
  • This position may include clinical instruction in fast paced and complex healthy care environments. Clinical teaching assignments often involve demonstration of proper nursing skills including techniques that may! require lifting or manipulation of physical objects
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Doctoral degree in nursing or related to nursing strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated potential for excellence in didactic and clinical teaching at the graduate level
  • Evidence of potential to work cooperatively with colleagues and students
  • Demonstrated potential for advising graduate students, including thesis or evidence based practice projects or DNP capstone.
  • Evidence of use of educational technology to enhance instruction (e.g., online learning platforms, synchronous and asynchronous class sessions).
  • Evidence of experience working with diverse populations
  • Teaching experience (graduate level preferred) (e.g., faculty appointment, graduate student preceptor)
