This position is the primary liaison for referrals, tours, and admissions. Responsible for ensuring that all the information is obtained, documented and communicated to the appropriate personnel, while maintaining a customer service approach.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
No direct reports.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Embraces EHSI customer service approach.
2. Responsible for taking referral information from telephone and walk in inquiries obtain! ing necessary clinical and financial information.
3. ! Works with the Business Office Manager to ensure financial verification is accurate and complete.
4. Coordinates the pre-admission process and acts as liaison between the customer and the facility.
- Coordinates the pre-admission process to include clinical information to identify care/service needs, pharmaceutical and DME requirements, and financial information.
- Follows the Pre-Admission Acceptance and Escalation Policy and obtains approvals from a clinical and financial perspective consistent with Extendicareâs pre-admission process.
- Ensures that the admission paperwork is complete as required by Extendicareâs policy.
- Conducts benefit based tours.
- Bed Board management.
- Participates in the creation and the execution of the facility(s) SMP.
- Creates a vivid sense of meaning and purpose in others by articulating sales/marketing goals, objectives and! vision in a manner that people can identify with.
- Participates, as needed, in daily stand up meeting to update facility marketing/admission team on referrals, pending admissions, and scheduled tours.
- Completes required number of sales calls as assigned.
- Participates in the Caring Partner program.
7. Limited travel required.
8. *Complies with laws and regulations applicable to position and act in accordance with Extendicare Health Services, Inc.âs Corporate Compliance Program.
9. Treats all residents, visitors, and staff with courtesy.
10. *Attends and participates in in-service training, performance improvement (âPIâ) committees and other meetings as scheduled and directed.

- Knows and follows facility rules.
- Demonstrates proper use of equipment. Reports equipment needs or repairs.
- Follows facility smoking policies.
- Reports and documents any incidents or accidents of residents, staff or visitors to the appropriate facility personnel.
- Reports all hazardous conditions/equipment to Supervisor.
- Performs duties, which may include transportation of residents, as assigned in Facility Disaster Plan.
- Uses required protective equipment.
- Follows infection control standards, policies and procedures.

- Knows Resident Rights. Helps the residents/patients exercise and/or protect their rights.
- Reports resident/patient complaints to management.
- Maintains confidentiality of residen! t/patient information.
- Follows and adheres to Extendicareâs policies and procedures implementing HIPAA requirements for the privacy and security of protected health information.
- Uses and/or discloses only minimum amount of Protected Health Information necessary to complete assigned tasks. (Applies only if position requires access to PHI under Role Based Access Grid.)
- Reports all suspected violation of companyâs HIPAA policies or procedures to Facility Privacy Designee.
Performs other duties as directed by center/regional management.
Minimum Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Highschool diploma or equivalent .
Experience: 2+ years of experience interacting and working with hospital-based clinicians (physicians, nurses, discharge planners and social workers). 2+ years experience in an outside sales and marketing role! , with demonstrated experience in making sales calls to healthcare prof! essionals.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Capacity to effectively engage in meaningful dialogue with senior management in a decisive and convincing manner. Presents persuasively and with conviction. Ability to make outside sales calls. Sales and marketing experience, preferably in a health care setting. Ability to relate positively, effectively and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other facility, regional and area staff. Possess special interest in, and a positive attitude about, working with long-term care residents and the elderly. Ability to read, writes, speak and understand English. Possesses a valid driverâs license and has access to a vehicle. Meets all health requirements, as required by law.
