Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Saint Peter, Minnesota

The Registered Nurse will provide professional nursing services to civilly committed sexual offenders within the Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP).

Responsibilities include but are no t limited to:

  • Participating within the multi-disciplinary team, demonstrating strong communication skills through writing, non-verbal behaviors and speaking, respect, professional ethics and a spirit of collaboration.
  • Performing related duties as assigned in areas of admissions and discharge, administration of medications and treatments, assistance to the client in developing optimal independence in living and coping skills, assessing client needs and planning and implementing the nursing care plan and multi-disciplinary treatment programs of the clients.
  • Maintaining knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, and taking measures to ensure a safe, secure and therapeutic environment.


Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications

  • Must possess or be eligible for a Minnesota RN license.
  • Preferred Qualifications

    • Patient care experience within a mental health or behavioral health setting
    • Bachelors of Nursing Degree

    REFERENCE/BACKGROUND CHECKS - The Department of Human Services will conduct reference checks to verify job-related credentials and criminal background check prior to appointment.

Copies of the college degree/diploma are acceptable ONLY if it clearly identifies the field in which it was earned.
