The Compensation & Benefits Specialist will assist in managing the overall administration of the compensation and benefits program, including 401(k), and health and welfare plans. They will participate in developing policies, new programs, and technology that support recruiting and retention efforts. This position will work closely with the Compensation & Benefits Manager and internal business partners across the organization to continually enhance and improve Rarebreed’s total employee rewards offering.
This role will be a full-time, salaried position based out of our Portland, Maine headquarters.

Responsibilities:
- Assists with the design, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the compensation and benefits programs, including base pay, incentive pay, health and wellness benefits (medical, dental, vision, FSA, HSA), life insurance, and 401(k)
- Researches and resolves administrative problems with the carrier representatives and responds to employee concerns and questions
- Assists with new employee and new hospital acquisition benefit onboarding, including delivering enrollment presentations
- Develops and delivers employee education
- Audits benefit enrollment system and invoices regularly, assists with regular compliance audits, assists with managing benefit compliance and distributing mandated notices
- Prepares and communicates information to employees and former employees about the programs, procedures, changes, and government-mandated disclosures
- Assists with the annual benefits open enrollment process and other projects and tasks as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business, Finance, or a related field required
- Three to five years of experience administering benefits programs required
- Experience administering compensation programs is preferred
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or CEBS preferred
- People-oriented and results-driving with high learning agility
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work in a hybrid work environment with occasional requirements to travel to other work locations
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality while working remotely
