Experience Required:

• RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician), RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) or CCS (Certified Coding Specialist), formal training and/or relevant experience in CPT coding.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Demonstrated proficient use of third party software.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision.
• Proficient Windows related software skills.
• Ability to type 40 words per minute.

Education Required:

• RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician), RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) or CCS (Certified Coding Specialist), formal training and/or relevant experience in CPT coding.

Job Description: The primary purpose of the Coding Specialist is to accurately code and charge for the professional fees associated with procedures performed by the Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists. This position will also be responsible for compliance to Federal and State billing regulations. This position will coordinate coding between the surgical procedure, and the anesthesia procedure performed. Another core function of this position will be the timely completion, and filing, of third party professional fees credentialing.
