Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced, high caliber, Clinical Marketing Manager to direct the Clinical Marketing Department’s educational and publication activities, including symposia and Continuing Medical Education programs. The Manager partners to develop strategies for the Clinical Marketing programs that favorably position its CRMD products and therapies in the marketplace.

Impact this role will have within the organization:

  • Recommends strategic campaigns for clinical marketing programs that favorably position the Company and its CRM products/therapies and support Divisional business objectives.
  • Develops and executes campaigns focused on building awareness and ! education of clinical activities including but not limited to:! commencement of significant clinical trials, clinical trial outcomes, competitor clinical activities, etc. Utilizes a wide range of communication vehicles (web-based, publications, presentations, etc) to effectively create messaging for targeted audiences.
  • Develops appropriate communications presence at industry conferences, including conducting interviews, and creating clinically focused presentations.
  • Manages the Clinical Intel team, comprised of representatives from as Field Clinical Engineering, Clinical Research, International, USD and Competitive Intelligence. Responsible for creating strategic communications in response to competitive or internal publications and clinical activities. Develops communication tools and guides to increase employee understanding of clinical activity and to aid in effective discussions with physicians.
  • Supports clinical study presentations and publications by providing appropriate marketing input while maintaini! ng scientific integrity.
  • Meets with VIP customers to increase their awareness of St. Jude Medical’s cli nical activities.
  • Manages and develops content for publication planning process; collaborates with other Marketing personnel to develop messaging strategy; collaborates with Clinical Department’s publication lead to assure appropriate coordination of publication activities; serves as contact person for all external trade journals and publications. Manages and develops trade publications.
  • Assists in the development and management of all professional education programs including online educational campaigns and other projects. Collaborates with U.S. and International divisions in customizing existing educational content for applicable geographic usage. Assures that messaging is consistent across all global regions.
  • Assures that scientific integrity and accuracy are captured in all presentations and publications developed by Clinical M! arketing.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bache! lor’s Degree in Marketing, Engineering, Nursing, or a related academic field.
  • 6+ years of progressively more responsible professional experience working in the medical device and technology sector, including experience in Clinical Affairs and/or Marketing.
  • Demonstrated success in working with research, clinical affairs, clinical key opinion leaders and marketing executives; demonstrated judgment in obtaining/assessing information and providing input that could affect the direction, accuracy and scope of strategic communication and public relations activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to be proactive in planning strategically how to more effectively leverage critical clinical and late breaking scientific results, quickly assess situations, flag problems, ascertain the need for new or additional information and demonstrate effective judgment is imperative.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and comply with applicable U. S. Food & Drug Adminis! tration (FDA) regulations and Company operating procedures, processes, policies, and tasks.
  • Demonstrated personal computer skills and the ability to perform word processing/spreadsheet tasks to perform documentation, presentation, and analysis activities are required.
  • This job may require up to approximately 30% travel or more.
  • Polished communicator- written documentation and oral presentations/ discussions/ meetings
  • Excellent reputation for building relationships across various levels of an organization.
  • Organized, on-time, and detailed project management skills.
  • Energized attitude.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • An advanced credential in a relevant discipline/concentration, such as an MBA.
  • Professional certification or designation. (e.g. American Marketing Association (AMA) and Medical Marketing Association (MMA). A medical device company background, especially in cardiac rhythm manag! ement
