Certified Nursing Assistant (The Lodge)

Location: White Bear Lake Minnesota

This position is responsible for providing personal care and designated health related services to maintain the resident’s physical and emotional we! ll being. We are looking to fill both morning and evening shifts at The Lodge in White Bear Lake, Minnesota.
RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB FUNCTION

Assist the resident with personal cares which may include all or some of the following: shampooing of hair, assist with showering, rubbing with lotions, fingernail cares and foot cares if instructed to do so, medication administration, redirection of a confused resident, and other cares as assigned.

Assist with dressing, grooming and oral cares as assigned.

Assist in use of hearing aids and glasses for residents.

Help each resident to reach and maintain the highest level of performance and independence.

Assist with treatments as delegated the Register Nurse per individualized care plan.

Observe client and report changes in physica! l and emotional condition such as change in attitude, loss of ! appetite, weight, etc.

Medication assistance as delegated by RN.

Prepare meals as directed following special meal plans if instructed.

Take and record temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration as instructed. Report changes or concerns to RN.

Attend In-service training as assigned.

Follows cleaning schedule per shift worked.

Lead resident activities as scheduled and assigned

REQUIREMENTS

Must understand and communicate using specialized medical terminology.

Must be punctual, with a good attendance record.

Must be mature and emotionally stable using calm and kind tone of voice, remaining calm in difficult or unusual circumstances.

Promoted independence, not dependence, with residents offering choices and fostering self-help skills.

Must be able to prioritize and organize work effectively and efficiently.

Must be flexible and adaptable to changing situa! tions.

Must be compassionate and work with tact and ethical awareness.

Must work as a team member with other personnel, supervisor and RN.

Must demonstrate good interpersonal skills.

Must be able to communicate to the extent required by the position

Must be able to physically perform the duties required of the position
