Chemical Health Technician
As a Chemical Healt! h Technician, staff will work under the supervision and direction of a chemical health counselor, providing initial intake and counseling services in a trauma-informed care agency. Specific duties includes orienting new clients to program expectations and routines, provide client supervision, communicate observations regarding client behavior to counselors and nursing staff, present lectures on appropriate topics to clients, facilitate selected group counseling sessions, provide transportation and recreation to clients and document services in a clear, concise and comprehensive manner. Speranza is a residential program so applicants must be available and willing to work various shifts including evenings, overnights, and weekends,
Requirements
For consideration, candidates must meet the following:Education:
Associates degree in human service or related field
Experience:
One year of working in a chemical dependency progr! am or three years working in a social service position
Must be able to pass a DHS Background Study and criminal background check
Must have a satisfactory driving record; motor vehicle records check will be conducted
Per licensing requirements, must be free of chemical use problems for a period of two years
Ability to communicate with a diverse population
