Responsibilities
The purpose of this position is to reduce the risk of acquiring and transmitting infections among patients, employees, physicians, contract service workers, volunteers, students and visitors
To facilitate communication with government! agencies and to implement regulations
Education
Bachelor's degree required in Nursing, Lab or Other Health related field
Qualifications
Experience
3-5 years of infection control experience
Skills
Interpersonal relationship
Problem solving
Verbal and written and computer skills are high priorities
Knowledge of micro-organism, blood borne pathogen, infection transmission and infection prevention statistics, data analysis, human factors engineering, process improvement and leadership are important components of this position
Licensure/ Certifications
Board Certification in Infection Prevention and Control prefer, or intent to sit for exam
Current license or registration as a medical technologist or clinical laboratory scientist, physician or registered nurse
Pay,Benefits, & Work Schedule
Full time position 40 hours per week
Day shifts! (Days & On-call)
Weekend Rotations: On-call pager rota! tion
