Unity Lab Services provides a single source for coordinated lab service, support, and supply management. We deliver service solutions without boundaries, programs are offered for all instruments, equipment, and laboratory supplies, regardless of vendor. As a laboratory partner, Unity Lab Services provides researchers what they need, when they need it, to improve their ability to focus on science and drive innovation.
This position is located in San Diego County, CA. Sites may be in Carlsbad, Torrey Pines, La Jolla, Mira Mesa, Poway, Oceanside, and other cities in the area.
Requires proof of Covid-19 vaccination.
Discover Impactful Work:
The position is focused primarily on scientific support services within Unity Lab Services core offerings of order entry, order management, operating customer procurement systems, stockroom services, material handling, shipping/receiving, and chemical tracking. Serve as a liaison between Thermo Fisher and the customer while establishing and developing positive customer relationships.
A day in the Life:
- Take direction from Area Supervisor and / or Regional Manager regarding daily duties.
- Access & use Thermo Fisher Scientifics’ Intranet and SharePoint document management system.
- Operate multiple proprietary systems which could include Fisher Scientific software (ULSIM), Internet, and Mainframe system.
- Use existing SOPs and work instructions to implement specific tasks set forth by Thermo Fisher (ULS) and the assigned customer site.
- Tasks may include, but are not limited to, Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI), cycle counts, order requisitions, shipping and receiving, stocking, de-trashing, chemical tracking, laboratory glass wash, autoclaving, media preparation, and material handling.
- Shows initiative to tackle other duties as available.
- Demonstrates proficiency at gathering, presenting, and explaining job or site-specific performance metrics.
- Positively represent Thermo Fisher Scientific throughout customer locations.
Keys to Success:
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required, Associate's degree preferred
Experience
- 1 or 2 years experience preferred
- Experience in laboratory settings and GLP/GMP environments, preferred.
- Customer Service Experience (retail history a plus)
- Works primarily and independently at customer locations, in office environment to include cubicles and/or in and around shipping/receiving docks, stock rooms, storage locations and laboratory environments
Compensation/Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position is $25.50/hr. - $26.50/hr. This position will also be eligible to receive a variable merit increase based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. Actual compensation will be confirmed in writing at the time of offer.

Compensation and Benefits
The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $19.66-$29.47.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
