The Trust & Safety Policy team develops and reviews our community policies to promote a positive and safe environment for all of our Users and Content Creators to enjoy and express themselves.
As the Regional Product Policy Lead for North America, you will be leading a high-performing team in developing and delivering safety policies, driving policy improvements and user education strategies which ensure the safety of our users across the US and Canada. Within this leadership role, the right candidate will have the opportunity to collaboratively shape Trust and Safety policies that directly affect TikTok users and the broader industry. Managing the largest market of TikTok users in the world will make a huge impact across features and Bytedance products and directly serve TT's mission of inspiring creativity and enriching life.
What will I be doing?
- You will lead a dedicated and passionate team of policy specialists with knowledge across TikTok's known harm and issue areas, manage cross-team relations and optimize policy iteration & implementation procedures to deliver high-quality results;
- As part of the global Product Policy leadership team, you'll provide guidance and regional insights to shape discussions on mission critical policy issues;
- You'll collaborate with Global Public Policy, Product, Operations, Legal, and Public Relations teams to improve content policies and streamline enforcement policies and processes;
- You will act as a global escalation point of contact, align all stakeholders, and respond to emergency content safety-related cases.
What should I bring with me?
- You have strong people management experience in leading small/medium multi-cultural teams;
- An ability to make order out of chaos. A penchant for working in a fast paced and dynamic environment, where there's a need need to respond rapidly to emerging threats and (re-)prioritize tasks and projects as appropriate;
- You have significant experience in content policy, policy enforcement, or public policy, specifically in technology/social media/content space;
- You have excellent communication, influencing, and project management skills, with the ability to drive the simultaneous delivery of complex projects in collaboration with stakeholder teams;
- You have a good understanding of how regional nuances impact content safety considerations.

Job Information
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $139650 - $256500 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
