This patient care may be through direct care by the RN, or it may be to coordinate and supervise patient care delegated to Licensed Practical Nurses, Nursing Assistants and other assistive personnel. All applicants work experience, education and background will determine which position they may be qualified for. All positions require current, Minnesota RN licensure and current CPR certification. In addition to the ability to provide high quality patient-centered care, it is essential that our Nurses possess a number of critical interpersonal attributes in order to be successful at Park Nicollet. These include a positive attitude and commitment to team success, the ability to positively embrace change and adapt quickly, to work autonomously, as well as collaboratively within a team environment, ability to respond well during stressful times and manage conflict in constructive ways, as well as being able to multi-task, demonstrate critical thinking skills, prioritize effectively, and possess strong time management skills.

Additional Information

5 West is a 56 bed Medical/Surgical Unit. We provide care for a wide variety of patients such as patients with endocrine disorders (particularly Diabetes Mellitus), acute and chronic renal failure, gastrointestinal and hepatic disorders. We also provide care for patients with MRSA (methicillin resistant staph aureus), VRE (vancomycin resistant enterococcus), Tuberculosis, weakness, dehydration, urinary tract infections and sepsis.
