This position assists the Registered Nursing staff in caring for patients by performing routine duties within prescribed limitations. May perform such duties as takin! g and recording vital signs, preparing patient education materials, rooming patients, assisting clinicians, lab duties, and radiology duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
·
Current MN LPN license required
·
Previous clinic experience preferred
·
Previous laboratory and radiology experience preffered
·
CPR certification
·
Strong verbal and written communication skills
·
Strong organizational and prioritization skills
·
Strong interpersonal skills
Job Responsibilities:
·
Rooms patients
·
Assists clinician with procedures
·
Administers medication (including injections)
·
Prepares patient education materials
·
Patient education using preprinted materials
·
Patient intake data collection
·
Ch! ecks patient vitals
·
Chart documentation
·
Telephone recording and reporting of conditions to clinician
·
Patient referrals, internal and external
·
Manages supplies and equipment in department; re-orders according to department use
·
Stocks rooms daily
·
Maintenance reporting
·
Accurate reporting of patient information to clinician and RN
·
Lab duties including: blood draws, performing lab tests, entering results into the lab system, and reporting lab tests
·
Radiology duties including: taking x-rays, tracking and sending x-rays, receiving reports and filing
·
Patient services duties including: scheduling, registration, chart preparation, insurance information, filing, and collecting payments
·
Keeps current with procedures and regulations in the! clinical laboratory
·
Maintains a safe work environment
·
Maintains adequate inventory in working area
·
Performs necessary quality control in all areas and follow up with corrective action as needed
·
Performs preventative maintenance on all equipment
·
Performs tests on blood, body fluid, urine, and stool specimens
·
Keeps accurate records of tests, quality control, and maintenance performed
·
Prepares specimens for delivery to external labs
·
Performs phlebotomy as needed and process specimens appropriately
·
Instructs patients in proper collection procedures for those specimens that must be collected at home by the patient
·
Evaluates quality control data, proficiency data, and quality assurance data as needed
·
Reviews all laboratory procedures and policies on an! annual basis
·
Assists with the evaluation and deve! lopment of new or improved test systems
·
Assists with training new employees
·
Attends the Fire Safety/Universal Precautions inservice as directed by Quality Services
Qualifications:
