The Specialty Infusion and Procedure Center provides chemo services for non-oncology patients. We see a variety of complex patients including: endocrine, nephrology, neurology, GI, hepatology, rheumatology, and transplant. Typical infusions include IgG, Remicade, Antibiotics, Thymoglobulin, Tysabri, Enzymes, Fluids/Electrolytes, and Blood Transfusions. We assist with procedures such as liver biopsy, kidney biopsy, paracentesis, wound care, tho! racenteses, and more. In this position, you will be part of th! e emergency response team, responding to unknown medical emergencies and providing treatment.

This specialized Registered Nurse performs both independent nursing and delegated medical functions. The independent nursing also includes assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for assigned patient population(s) usually in specialty or acute care clinics. The delegated medical function includes participation in and coordination of delegated patient care to other health care team members. The RN is responsible for performing these functions in accordance with all policy, procedure, and professional practice guidelines. Assists provider with complex procedures and independently completes a variety of tasks including, but not limited to injections, phone triage, and preparation of educational materials, patient education, patient vital checks, chart documentation, and monitoring standards of care. Keeps up-to-date on technological advances and new pha! rmaceutical products.

In order to qualify for this role, you must possess:
Current MN RN license

BLS certification

Current ACLS and Chemo Certification or ability to obtain certification within one year of service

Specialty training or graduate classes related to clinical area of practice

5 years hospital or clinical experience, 2 years must be in an acute care hospital setting

2 years of specialty/critical care experience with specialty certification

Ability to keyboard and utilize computer applications

Ability to work independently and demonstrate critical thinking skills

Good communication skills

Good organizational and prioritization skills

Preferred:
Four year degree or BSN

Specialty certification
Experience working in an infusion center
Experience with solid organ transplant

Previous ambulatory care experience in specialty ! area with specialty certification

Internal candidates should h! ave above average performance rating as an RN

Training on all critical care competencies for specialty

Experience fully utilizing EPIC

Ability to embrace change and engage in ongoing process improvement

Ability to multi-task on an ongoing basis

Ability to work as an effective team member to provide exceptional care
