Job Description:
Regions Hospital has an exciting program for graduate Bachelor's prepared RN's who aspire to become long term critical care nurses at Regions Hospital. The Critical Care Immersion (CCI) Program is an 18 month orientation and on-boarding experience for graduate registered nurses, with the intended outcomes of acheiving competencies (technical skill, speciality knowledge, interpersonal skills and critical thinking) to work successfully in a critical care area.
The program consists of orientation and work in a progressive care/telemetry unit for an initial period followed by a transistion to critical care orientation and work. This 18 month program consists of 4 phases. Transistion between ! phases is customized to each participant and may be dynamic. A! ll participants will have opportunities to "shadow" on the various adult ICU's (MICU, CICU, Burn and SICU) at Regions prior to transitioning into a specific ICU unit. Some may transition into the ICU sooner, depending upon progressing, clinical competencies and capabilities.

Required Criteria:
- New graduate nurse from a baccalaureate nursing program (or have a previous baccalaureate degree in a health care related field).
- GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- A clear passion and desire to work in a critical care setting and committment to Regions long-term (minimum of three years once orientation to the ICU is complete).
- Prior work/volunteer experience in an adult critical care setting or student experience in an adult critical care unit is required for consideration.
- Must agree to a .8 FTE (64 hours every two weeks).
- Must be flexible and open to any and all shifts: Night, Evening/Ni! ght, Evening or Day/Night.
- This position is for a NEW GRAD RN who has not yet had any RN work experience.
