The Registered Nurse in the Primary Role integrates health care for clients from pre-admission to post-disch! arge. The nurse functions in structured and unstructured health care settings described as a geographical and/or situational environment which may not have established policies and procedures. The nurse utilizes independent nursing judgment when integrating health care. The nurse has knowledge of and utilizes appropriate age-related patient care protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of adult and geriatric patients. The on-call nurse is accountable for adhering to established policies, procedures and eligibility requirements, admission policies, Medicare guidelines and budgetary constraints established.
Nursing staff are expected to know and will be held accountable for following infection prevention and control policies.
When students are providing patient care, treatment, and/or services as a part of their training, any/all employees may be asked to supervise the students.
Required Skills
Graduate of an accredited sc! hool of nursing with an Associate Degree, Diploma, or Bachelor! ’s Degree in Nursing. Experience within the field of nursing of at least one year as a Registered Nurse is preferred. Following a formal orientation, competency in the assigned clinical area is expected within six months. On-the-job training will be provided. Must also complete 24 Contact Hours every 2 years with 2 hours being infection control.
Required Experience
Must be licensed in the State of MN as a Registered Nurse. BLS
