Hours: Summer Intern to work with Perianesthesia RN's to assist with patient care delivery. M-F Position, 8 hour shifts. Staggerd start times between 6am-11am
Job Objective/Purpose:
Provides basic nursing care in routine nursing situations and performs non-professional tasks in the nursing unit under the direction of a registered nurse. Maintains an orderly and safe physical environment.
Qualifications:
Education: Must be entering senior year of nursing school and/or have ! completed the pediatric rotation.
Experience: Worked with children in capacity of baby-sitting, volunteering, and/or nursing school pediatric rotation.
Is in the process of learning theoretical and practical knowledge of nursing, has rudimentary skills in performing the technical aspects and knowledge of procedures, care of hospitalized patients, equipment, supplies, and instruments available to assist in patient comfort and recovery.
Also has some understanding of mechanical principles necessary for using hospital equipment, instruments, and knowledge of hospital record keeping.
