Primary Care Nurse Practitioner - (NP-Primary Care) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: Part Time
Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to cover 6 months. Part time for 3 days per week not to exceed 30 hours/week. Monday -Friday 6:00am-6:00pm. See 15-20 patients/day. *Minnesota license. Work with staff physician(s) & consulting physicians planning, instituting, evaluating & revising pro! gram plans; assists in determining conditions, resources & pol! icies essential to delivery of the healthcare to inmates. Discriminates between normal & abnormal findings to recognize early stages of serious physical, emotional, or mental problems. Provide help in the daily operation of the clinic & conducts daily sick call; which may include securing health & developmental history from the patient, recording findings & making critical evaluations. Provides emergency services, including primary care for trauma & life-saving procedures. Minor surgical procedures incision & drainage; suturing of lacerations; removal/repair of ingrown toe nails. Prescribe medications. BCLS.
A primary care nurse practitioner (locum tenens) diagnoses and treat patients, order diagnostics, conduct physical exams, interpret x-rays and other tests, and also educate patients on maintaining proper health. In addition to a nursing license, a primary care nurse practitioner holds a certification as a nurse practitioner, and typically a master's degree. A p! rimary care nurse practitioner works with physicians on duty to help evaluate and treat patients.
